AdBlue Contamination

So, what is the problem with putting AdBlue in a diesel car? Seeing as the product is primarily ionised water, it's like putting water in your tank. Diesel and water really do not blend in the slightest and trying to run a diesel car on water will not work. Also, the urea is very corrosive to your fuel system hoses and seals and is susceptible to crystalising, obstructing injectors and filters.

If you find you have put AdBlue in your fuel tank get it out at once. And obviously never start the engine - not even to shift it from the pump. Assuming you did start the vehicle you will in all likelihood have to have the whole fuel system cleaned and fuel filters changed out.

Water contaminated fuel

Fuel contaminated with water, no matter whether it is unleaded petrol or diesel, is generally a significant condition to take care of in a motor vehicle - specifically in modern common-rail engines. Water inside your fuel can easily contribute to idling issues, uneven running, increased smoke and, if not remedied properly, quite possibly blown injectors.
